Thomas-waiting for another play to begin. Oh, by the way....he isn't

blowing a bubble. That's his mouth guard hanging out of his mouth!

The play begins!

Thomas gets the ball. He makes a dash for the right side. Can he make it

through all the way to the goal?

Nope! You can't see him in this picture. But, he is on the bottom of that

pile. They created a ruck and he was able to get out without much damage

his body!

On the sidelines after a game well played! BSU scored in the last 30

seconds of the game to win by 5 points. The score was something

like 24-19.

After Thursdays practice, Thomas decided to see how far he could

kick the ball. He put the tee on the 40 yard line to try kicking a 60

yard field goal. The ball fell just short of the goal posts. Tom was pretty

excited to see he could almost kick a 60 yard field goal. He didn't think

anyone else saw him or was paying any attention. Apparently someone

was watching.

Today, when it came time for the kick after a touchdown, the coach

called on Thomas to do it. This kick is done from the sidelines and is

expected to go through the goal posts-not an easy kick. Thomas didn't

know he was going to be asked to kick the ball and was pretty surprised.

He placed the ball.....took a few steps back.....and then came forward

with a powerful kick that sent the ball sailing through the air with just the

right curve to pass beautifully through the goal posts! He was slapped on

the back and congratulated by his team mates. The coach came walking

back down the sidelines with a big smile on his face. He told the crowd

"now, that's something we've never had....a guy who can actually kick the ball!"

That's our boy!

Driveway project repairs!

OOPS!! Those little diggers can sure shred a perfectly good drain pipe in
no time at all!

A half day's worth of digging and 18 feet of new pipe and we are as

good as new!

Driveway project-Day 5

The cement truck is here! Terry has a lot of work to do to
fix the big divets made by the wheels of this huge truck on our grass!

Ready to start pouring cement!

The retaining wall was first. The cement had to be wheel barrowed

to the wall and then shoveled into the forms.

Working fast and furious!

This reminds me of someone who paints himself into a corner!

How do you level 15 yards of cement? Why a 10 foot 2x4, of course!

The back pad is done and now they are starting on the front driveway.

The new sidewalk by the front door! It has been a slippery slide for

way too many years!

WET CONCRETE! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT WALKING ON IT!

We are so glad to have this part of the project finally finished! It looks

great and Terry is now in Happy Man Heaven! A fourth driveway and

RV pad means more junk storage and less grass to mow!

Driveway Project-Day 4

Trying to figure out the best way to get the sidewalk out.

manpower!

Driveway project-Day 3

All was quiet at the Smith house. Not a creature was stirring-not dog
or human. The clock clicked to 7:15 a.m. and the doorbell rang!
It was the crew! They were here and ready to go to work!

After checking his beloved fence posts, Terry decided that post #3 needed one more bag of cement to be nice and secure!

After the digging, sand and gravel were brought in and then it was time

for the forms. The forms in the back were laid first.

Then it was time for the front forms.

The finished project before cement. Rain is predicted for tomorrow so we will have to wait until Thursday. The only catastrophe of the day was the cable line that was cut! Terry's internet, my telephone, and Thomas' tv-all gone! Luckily, the cable guy was able to come out in the afternoon and restore happiness to our home once more!

Driveway project-Day 2

Getting post #1 in took the longest.

There was lots of measuring and remeasuring.

How do we keep that post in it's perfectly measured position? I know!

DUCT TAPE!!

After lots of measuring and digging holes and redigging holes for posts #2 and #3 they were finally ready to mix the cement-in the dark!

After posts #2 and #3 were cemented in the all important question...how do we keep them in their perfectly measured position until the cement hardens? I know! Scout knots...taut line hitches and two-half hitches! Tom watched to make sure the measurement never changed while Terry adjusted his knots! Works everytime!!!

Finally....clean up! The work crew will be here for Day 3 bright and early in the morning!

Driveway project-Day 1

We are putting in an addditional driveway in the front yard and a huge cement pad behind the fence in the back yard. We have to redo the fence so the first job at hand was to remove the three existing posts. You can see from the picture who dug and who supervised!

CTR7A Easter Party

My Primary class earned their Reverence party in March. I held the party today. I made bunny cakes during Conference and froze them. The kids frosted and decorated them and then we took them to some members in our ward. After delivering the bunny cakes we went back to my house and the kids decorated sugar cookies (in the shape of an Easter egg)-one for each member of their family-plus 2 for them! Then we had pizza and soda to finish up the party. They are great kids and we had a super fun time!
