The $Million Dog!

I took MOOSE in this morning at 7:30 a.m. for his yearly check-up at the vet's.
This was the list of to-do's........

1. bath
2. toe nail trim
3. shots
4. teeth cleaning
5. check ears
6. remove ear wax wad in left ear
7. check anal glands
8. check lump on back right knee

Here are the results.....

1. they were going to bathe him while he was out but his body temp was dropping and the vet was concerned that it would drop too low if he got cold...so a quick bath was given after he woke up and warmed up
2. much shorter and looking great!
3. done for another year!
4. during teeth cleaning a swollen back molar was discovered...an x-ray showed that MOOSE had not 1 but 2 abcessed teeth that had to be removed
5. icky, stinky ears were cleaned out good and antibiotics will take care of the rest
6. the ear wax wad turned out to be a tumor in his ear-the doctor was able to remove it -benign or cancer is yet to be determined
7. icky, stinky anal glands were impacted and had to be expressed-they are still icky but no longer stinky!
8. a 1 inch incision revealed a fatty tumor that was sucked out and all is well-the 2 sutures will be removed in 14 days

I headed to the vet's after work and after a whole page of instructions, soft dog food for 14 days, ear wash, ear drops, antibiotics, and pain killers, my $Million MOOSE and I headed for home!
